Cairo to Uganda!

This was written two days ago… we are now in UGANDA!!!! <3>

Anyway, here’s my blog about Egypt J

******

We’re in back in Africa and loving it! I’ve heard a lot of people say that they didn’t enjoy Cairo, but I love it here. Its such a cool city, everyone is so so friendly (especially the guys haha) and there’s so much history, its very interesting.

Just to catch you up, we arrived in Cairo on the early morning of the 22nd, where we finally met up with Carissa! It was so exciting to turn the corner to passport control and see her sitting and waiting for us at baggage claim! It was a heartwarming reunion, we both dropped our bags, and ran, in slow motion, until colliding in each others’ arms. Haha no but it was so great to see her again. And we’ve been having so much fun since then!

The first full day we were here we spent figuring out our hotel. There was a huge confusion with the hotel and our booking agency, and it ended up with us not having a place to stay. Thankfully we found an amazing guy called Mohammed, who is a tour operator, and he has been so great. He helped us find a new hotel, which is so nice, and since then he’s been amazing. He gets us great deals wherever we go, has contacts everywhere, and keeps on buying little gifts for Josh, Ayana, and Moses.

Anyway, we found our hotel, and that took up pretty much the whole day. Haha my family is such a gongshow, and now with Carissa, we’re 8 people. We’re like a traveling circus. :P

Well since then we have done so many amazing things. I’m not going to go into a ton of details, but I’ll just quickly go over a few of the main things. One of the highlights was… riding camels around the pyramids!! Oh man, it was absolutely amazing, we couldn’t even believe it was happening. Succhhh an incredible experience…. Definitely should be on everyone’s list of things to do before they die, it was worth every penny!

We’ve also gone of the National Museum (so cool! Seeing the grave, and funeral mask and everything of Tutankhamun was so sweet), the Pharaonic Village (live actors acting out scenes from the time of the Pharaohs, very interesting), night markets (sooo much funn!!), a dinner cruise on the NILE, as well as a boat ride down the Nile in one of their old traditional boats (same as the time of the Pharaohs) called Falukas, gone to the Egypt version of Disneyland (Dream Park.. we made some great friends there! :D)… we’ve been enjoying everything we’ve done here.

We have to buy internet by the minute here at the hotel, so I don’t have enough time to upload pictures, but once we get to Uganda we’re hoping to have free access to internet where we’re staying so I’ll try to put some pictures up then J

Its been a great trip, and we’re leaving tomorrow night, which sucks, but it also means that we’re heading for Uganda! So exciting!
